[RESCHEDULE] Seminar: Ready for Retirement?

As pension industry professionals we know the importance of member education to ensure employees understand what they need to do to prepare financially for retirement. However, finances are just one aspect of a happy and meaningful retirement. We have therefore invited Dr. Billy Mak to be our keynote speaker for this seminar. Dr. Mak will highlight the many preparations required to move from the accumulation phase of our careers to a fulfilling post-work life. Dr. Mak will share his inspiration and knowledge on how to prepare our employees, family members and ourselves for retirement across the quadrants of finance, physical health, mental preparedness and social well being. This will be followed by a panel discussion to explore these important issues further.

Keynote Speaker
Dr. Billy Mak Sui-choi

Associate Professor, Department of Finance and Decision Sciences, Hong Kong Baptist University

Dr. Billy Mak is currently Associate Professor of Department of Finance & Decision Sciences, Associate Director of Master of Business Administration Program of Hong Kong Baptist University, and Member of the Hong Kong Securities & Investment Institute.  His research topics focus on equity market, financial planning and Hong Kong property market. He has authored numerous publications and papers on securities markets and investment.  Dr. Mak is frequently interviewed by the media on economic and property market issues and he is the guest host of “Corporate Expo” program of Metro Finance Radio. He is also the special contributor of various newspapers. 

On professional and community services, Dr. Mak is currently, the member of Housing Authority Finance Committee, the member of Housing Authority Funds Management Sub-Committee, the member of Housing Authority Subsidized Housing Committee, the member of Investor Education Centre – Hong Kong Strategy for Financial Literacy Steering Committee, member of Securities and Futures Appeal Tribunal, member of Process Review Panel (SFC), member of Steering Committee for WAM Pilot Programme (the Pilot Programme to Enhance Talent Training for the Asset and Wealth Management Sector), member of Business Facilitation Advisory Committee, member of the Licensing Committee of Hong Kong Gold & Silver Exchange Society.

General Manager, HR Services, Group Human Resources of Jardine Matheson Limited and HR Director, Jardine Pacific

Hayly Leung is General Manager, HR Services, Group Human Resources of Jardine Matheson Limited and HR Director of Jardine Pacific.
Hayly provides guidance and support to the Jardine Group companies on a regional basis. She plays a key role in developing HR policies and in formulating HR strategies for Mergers and Divestments. She oversees a pension specialist team that provides strategic advice and support to business units relating to all aspect of retirement schemes in Hong Kong and in the region. She also drives the transformation of the people agenda in Jardine Pacific.
Prior to joining JM, Hayly was the Group HR Director of Jardine Schindler. Before that, Hayly held various VP roles in HR in BT, one of the world’s leading communications services companies, with management responsibilities across Asia Pacific and Europe. Hayly holds a Master degree in HR Management from MacQuarie University in Australia. She is a qualified Company Secretary.
Ms. Florence Chan

Chief Manager (External Affairs), Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA)

Florence Chan is currently Chief Manager (External Affairs) of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA). Ms Chan is a Certified Financial Planner. She has joined MPFA since 2007 and has over 11-year hands-on experience in developing financial education programmes to educate different target groups on the concepts of MPF investment as well as retirement planning and investment.
