Money Month 2017
As part of the 3-year HKSFL’s strategic focuses (2015-18) of “raising awareness of the benefits of financial education”, from 2017 onwards, an annual, territory-wide financial literacy awareness and engagement campaign “Hong Kong Money Month” will be organised every year after the Chinese New Year – which is a good time for financial planning of new year resolutions, or parental education for laisee management. Hong Kong’s inaugural Money Month is scheduled from 18 February to 18 March 2017. The IEC as the Secretariat will organise major activities and provide common resources like free platforms, collaterals, event listing and paid advertising to inspire and facilitate public and stakeholder participation.

    • Public education campaign (consumer touchpoints with messages, videos, images and collaterals/posters with dedicated Money Month Facebook and website www.moneymonth.hk) while leveraging communications channels and networks of Ambassadors and Supporting Organisations as well as government and public facilities.
    • Launch event cum weekend education fair (held on 18-19 February 2017 at Plaza Hollywood, Diamond Hill) participated by the general public and supported by participating organisations, HKSFL Ambassadors and Supporting Organisations). The fair covers a full spectrum of money management while giving due attention to key knowledge and capability gaps of Hong Kong people for public participation.
    • Central financial literacy repository “Money Learning Directory” (also featuring Money Month activities contributed by providers/participating organisations)
    • Financial Literacy Forum (held on 10 March attended by local and international practitioners/stakeholders to discuss issues and share best practices)
